In practice

Time tracking that adds up when payroll runs.

Check-in happens in the app with a geofence check. If the phone loses coverage, the tap is stored locally and sent when it is back online. Timesheets are approved in the portal, locked, and exported to your payroll system with the columns you configured.

Tap in, tap out

One press in the app. The position is checked against the workplace right then, and the employee gets a green confirmation.

Review and approve

Every session per employee and period in the portal, with breaks and deviations. Approved periods are locked until payroll has run.

Export to payroll

Approved hours, calculated overtime and absence in one file. Export profiles decide columns and order; the target system must support CSV and the columns you choose.

How it works

From shift to payroll file

  • The employee taps in and out on the phone. Breaks are recorded in the same flow.
  • The manager sees the sessions under Timesheets, corrects what needs correcting and approves the period.
  • The payroll data is exported as CSV and imported into the payroll system.

Time tracking

Do we need a time clock or other hardware?

No. Employees use their own phone with the TapInn app on iOS or Android, or the web. Managers use the portal in the browser.

What if an employee forgets to tap out?

The manager closes the session under Check-ins and corrects the time in the timesheet. The employee can also send a correction proposal from the app. Every change is logged with who, what and why.

Which payroll systems does it work with?

TapInn exports CSV. You choose the columns and order, and your payroll system must support CSV import with those fields.
