Locations and geofence
The right place, the right radius.

How to create locations, set the check-in radius and test that the geofence works before you roll out.

Locations

The worksite with an address and a radius.

Geofence test

See if a point is inside, and how accurate the GPS is.

Manual check-in

The alternative when GPS cannot be used.

Details

Explained in practice.

Create a location

Go to Locations in the portal and create a new location with a name and address. The radius you set decides how close an employee must be to clock in.

How the geofence works

A check-in is approved when the employee is inside the radius. The position is only used in the moment the action happens. TapInn tracks no one through the day.

Test the geofence

Open the location under Locations and run the geofence test. The test shows the distance to the location, whether the point is inside, and warns if GPS accuracy is too weak. Test both a point on the site and one outside it.

Manual check-in

If an employee cannot use GPS, you can allow manual check-in. The employee then searches for the location, sees the full address and picks the right project before submitting.
